hello wrinkles!
Just wondering though, who invited you here?
My resting face usually includes some type of brow furrow but these little wrinkles on my forehead are hanging out and getting comfortable. I’ve recently started subbing in collagen pills/powder with daily meds and other vitamins. There’s little evidence that this type of supplement will make a change, but what the heck!
It’s been almost six months since I started Zoladex injections and Femara (ovarian suppression meds) but my face is starting to show new signs of aging. According to Medical News Today, wrinkles are a natural part of the aging process. As people get older, their skin becomes thinner, drier, and less elastic, which means it is less able to protect itself from damage. This leads to wrinkles, creases, and lines on the skin.
Once we hit our early 20’s, collagen production starts to decrease by about 1% per year, but that rate can increase to nearly 30% once we start the menopause transition.
My combination skin is drier than it’s ever been before. I completely took for granted the natural glow my skin maintained throughout the day. In recent pictures, my face looks dull and my makeup seems unwelcome, not blending like it used to. My two-minute, three easy steps, skin-care regimen is leaving my face chapped and stripped of moisture.
I’ve been on a purchasing binge to find the best products for aging skin. I’m scheduling days to learn how to use mihakkas, cooling globes, crystal face rollers, Gua Sha tools (Tina Eneo has great tutorials on YouTube) and serums. It’s actually kind of fun.
Not every product requires fancy tools. I’m in love with AYOND’s products (see Pausitively Radiant for links) and that just requires using my hands and a little extra care on my skin every morning and night. While menopause is only partially to blame for wrinkles, I’m finding that a more involved skin care routine is just nice self care. I’m trying to use the time at night pampering my skin to reduce my scroll time and instead queue sleep time. It hasn’t worked yet, but I’m going to keep trying.
I’m going to check out some other blogs for recos as well (The Tenille Life has been one of my recent favorites). Any tricks that have worked well for you? Send them my way, please and thank you!
