PRESS RELEASE: Dublin Arts Collective Presents the "Post Period" Menopause Art Show and Free Community Screening of The M Factor Documentary

An Event to Celebrate World Menopause Day and Foster Awareness, Dialogue, and Support Through Art and Film

DUBLIN, CA – In honor of World Menopause Day on October 18, the Dublin Arts Collective is proud to announce the "Post Period" Menopause Art Show, an event combining the arts and health education to foster meaningful community conversations around menopause. As part of this initiative, we are also hosting a free community screening of the documentary The M Factor, shredding the silence on Menopause, on October 17, shining a spotlight on the realities of menopause and how it impacts women.

The event will be held in recognition of World Menopause Awareness Month and aims to use art and film as platforms to address menopause—a natural phase of aging that remains largely misunderstood and often stigmatized.

About "Post Period" Menopause Art Show

"Post Period" is an innovative art exhibition that celebrates the experiences of women as they transition through menopause. Through a wide array of visual art, the exhibit provides a platform for women to express their truths, share their personal journeys, and challenge societal misconceptions surrounding menopause. This show aims to break the silence around menopause and offer a space for creative expression, solidarity, and reflection. 15 local artists will be participating. Women are invited to participate by contributing quotes, stories, or videos under the hashtag #expressyourtruth, which will be integrated into the exhibition to further amplify women's voices.

Free Screening of The M Factor Documentary

A key highlight of the event will be a free community screening of The M Factor—a documentary that shares personal stories of women navigating menopause. The film addresses the physical, mental, and emotional challenges of menopause, while emphasizing the importance of awareness and support for women during this critical stage of life.

The film by Emmy-Award-winning filmmaker Jacoba Atlas and executive producers, Emmy Award-winning journalist Tamsen Fadal, Denise Pines, and Emmy Award-winning Joanne LaMarca Mathisen premieres on PBS October 17th.

By integrating this powerful documentary into the art show, the Dublin Arts Collective aims to change the narrative around menopause, encouraging open and honest dialogue that fosters greater empathy and understanding. The film screening will offer an opportunity for attendees to reflect on their own experiences or learn more about this important phase of life, bringing the community together in solidarity
