The Second Bloom: The Hidden Gems of Menopause
In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, we're talking about mental health changes.
Hormonal changes during the menopause transition can shake up the routines we've come to rely on and impact our mental health--I know it did for me! Life can start to feel rocky or unpredictable—but when we talk through the changes, and shift our perspective, those “rocks” can reveal unexpected gems of beauty.
The Second Bloom: "The Hidden Gems of Menopause" will be at JBJ Fine Jewelry—a setting that perfectly reflects the power of reframing some of the challenges the menopause journey may bring.
We'll explore the mental and emotional impacts of hormonal shifts with:
Dr. Bettina Zatuchni (OB/GYN), Pleasanton Gynecology
Carine Camara (L.Ac, energy healer)
Nichol Joy Chase (ERYT-500, YACEP, yoga + embodiment teacher)
They'll offer insights and tools to help us nurture our mind-body connection and find our own hidden gems through this transition. More experts to be announced soon!
Space is limited so RSVPs are required. Tickets (there are lots of perks!!) and details here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/1338006335969?aff=oddtdtcreator
If you can't make it, no problem!! But share with a friend who may be interested. Hope to see you there.

The MFactor Screening
PRESS RELEASE: Dublin Arts Collective Presents the "Post Period" Menopause Art Show and Free Community Screening of The M Factor Documentary
An Event to Celebrate World Menopause Day and Foster Awareness, Dialogue, and Support Through Art and Film
DUBLIN, CA – In honor of World Menopause Day on October 18, the Dublin Arts Collective is proud to announce the "Post Period" Menopause Art Show, an event combining the arts and health education to foster meaningful community conversations around menopause. As part of this initiative, we are also hosting a free community screening of the documentary The M Factor, shredding the silence on Menopause, on October 17, shining a spotlight on the realities of menopause and how it impacts women.
The event will be held in recognition of World Menopause Awareness Month and aims to use art and film as platforms to address menopause—a natural phase of aging that remains largely misunderstood and often stigmatized.
About "Post Period" Menopause Art Show
"Post Period" is an innovative art exhibition that celebrates the experiences of women as they transition through menopause. Through a wide array of visual art, the exhibit provides a platform for women to express their truths, share their personal journeys, and challenge societal misconceptions surrounding menopause. This show aims to break the silence around menopause and offer a space for creative expression, solidarity, and reflection. 15 local artists will be participating. Women are invited to participate by contributing quotes, stories, or videos under the hashtag #expressyourtruth, which will be integrated into the exhibition to further amplify women's voices.
Free Screening of The M Factor Documentary
A key highlight of the event will be a free community screening of The M Factor—a documentary that shares personal stories of women navigating menopause. The film addresses the physical, mental, and emotional challenges of menopause, while emphasizing the importance of awareness and support for women during this critical stage of life.
The film by Emmy-Award-winning filmmaker Jacoba Atlas and executive producers, Emmy Award-winning journalist Tamsen Fadal, Denise Pines, and Emmy Award-winning Joanne LaMarca Mathisen premieres on PBS October 17th.
By integrating this powerful documentary into the art show, the Dublin Arts Collective aims to change the narrative around menopause, encouraging open and honest dialogue that fosters greater empathy and understanding. The film screening will offer an opportunity for attendees to reflect on their own experiences or learn more about this important phase of life, bringing the community together in solidarity

Luminary Virtual Event - Breast Cancer & Menopause
As of 2021, Breast Cancer is now the most common cancer in the world. While most people won’t get breast cancer in their lifetime, many of us know someone who has had it. And some of us have experienced it for ourselves. While many of us are “aware” that breast cancer exists, many of us don’t know much about our breast health.
When breast cancer is found in early stages, the survival rate is really high. But when it is found in the latest stage, Stage 4, the survival rate is low, and it becomes a life-long disease.
Join Luminary and Teyonna Bowman this October as she shares easy to digest (pun definitely intended) materials created by the Know Your Lemons Foundation, to discuss early detection. Early detection requires two things; knowing symptoms and knowing when to get screened, according to your risk.
Additionally, October is not just for Breast Cancer Awareness but also for Menopause Awareness.
This session will also briefly cover the menopause journey from the cancer survivor’s point of view and discuss resources available to all women. While not every woman will be directly impacted by breast cancer, all women will eventually reach menopause, so please join us for this engaging and important workshop.
